Advent: Preparing The Way
Jesus, You Are
Jesus, you are light in the darkest places.
Shine hope into our hearts we pray.
Jesus, you are peace in the rockiest storm.
Bring peace into our hearts we pray.
Jesus, you are joy in the saddest times.
Shine joy in our hearts we pray.
Jesus, you are love where this hatred.
Bring love into our hearts we pray.
Amen.
Advent is a beautiful season that sometimes gets lost in all of the preparations for Christmas. Many of us feel the pressure to simply hurry things up to get to Christmas.
Watch this fun, animated video as a family as a reminder of why the Advent season is a wonderful time to slow down and prepare for the hope, love, joy, and peace that is to come.
Shopping lists, photos with Santa, travel plans...these are just some of the ways that the season of Advent seems to be celebrated in our busy, fast-paced lives.
Taking the time to be truly watchful and waiting for Christ to come takes practice and patience during Advent. In this article, Maruska Healy provides some practical advice on how to incorporate Advent traditions into our families' lives.
Advent calendars are tools that help us in our preparations for Christmas. They not only help us to mark the days leading to the celebration of the birth of Jesus, but also give us reflections and tasks to help us get our hearts ready for Jesus, too.
The link below will take you to an interactive Advent calendar that provides a reflection each day to do with your family.
